can add another line to her résumé: she’s designing a capsule collection for . WWD reports that the Fashion Star judge’s new venture, for Impulse, will debut in mid-September in about 100 Macy’s locations and on macys.com.

“Right now, fashion is in a print cycle and Nicole does a lot of prints,” Martine Reardon, Macy’s Inc.’s chief marketing officer, tells WWD. “She’s got a very definitive look, very free style and bohemian chic, and our collection will definitely pay homage to her style.”

Richie, who already has successful fashion and accessories lines including Winter Kate, House of Harlow 1960 and for QVC, says music is her biggest inspiration — and that the Macy’s line of 24 to 30 pieces will represent the modern woman. “Women are wearing so many different hats these days. We are evolving. Not just working, but creating,” she tells WWD. “This collection has a strong mix of masculine and feminine: printed chiffon mixed with faux leathers. I focused on the details, from the zipper pulls to the buttons.”
