Since becoming named creative director at Diet Coke in Europe earlier this year, Jean Paul Gaultier has gone on to create a series of new bottle designs, titled ‘Night & Day’, for the soda brand.
The ‘Night’ version is a provocative bottle that is inspired by Gaultier’s runway shows and iconic cone bra design, which is very edgy in its nature. It incorporates a lace and fishnet design which accentuates the female-like silhouette and suggests being the perfect beverage for an after hours gathering.
One the flip side, the ‘Day’ bottle is pulls from Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature Breton Stripes and is a perfect interpretation of his more whimsical side. Its obvious nautical theme aligns with the brands iconic image and incorporates a star tattoo which pays homage to Gaultier’s sailor muse.
Capping off the limited edition collection, there is a shiny red bottle cap that acts as a colorful beret for both ensembles. Both bottles are fun, exciting and very fashion driven, which is the perfect representation of Jean Paul Gaultier, not to mention that there will be a third installment later this year. The third bottle will be the ‘Tattoo’ design, which stems from Gaultier’s love of body art.
The campaign was shot by photographer Stephane Sednaoui and looks to be as fun and entertaining as the bottles themselves.
